Terms of service

StreetGuard Security — Terms of Service

Effective date: 19 April 2026 Last reviewed: 19 April 2026 Version: 1.0 (final) Contact: support@streetguardsecurity.com

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the streetguardsecurity.com website (the "Website") and any products or services we sell through it. They form a legally binding contract between you and StreetGuard Security ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing, browsing, or purchasing from the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our:

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Website.

StreetGuard Security is a trading name. The operator of the Website and the entity you are contracting with may update as our business evolves. Current operator details are available on request by emailing support@streetguardsecurity.com.

2. Australian Consumer Law — nothing here limits your rights

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the Australian Consumer Law ("ACL").

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy which, under the ACL or any other applicable law, cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.

If any provision of these Terms is inconsistent with a non-excludable right or remedy under the ACL, the ACL prevails and that provision is read down to the extent necessary to comply.

Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee in relation to goods not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited at our option to replacement, repair, or refund, or payment of the cost of replacement or repair.

3. Eligibility

By using the Website or placing an order, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have legal capacity to enter a contract;
  • you are providing accurate, current, and complete information;
  • you are purchasing for your own personal, household, or business use and not for commercial resale or export without our written permission; and
  • your use of the Website and our products will comply with all applicable laws.

If you are under 18, you may use the Website only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

4. Orders, pricing, and payment

4.1 Orders are offers

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. We accept your order when we send an order confirmation email (not the automatic receipt). Until then, we may decline or cancel any order, including for:

  • suspected fraud or unauthorised payment;
  • stock errors or pricing errors (see 4.3);
  • breach of these Terms;
  • delivery to a location outside our shipping zones (see Shipping Policy); or
  • reasonable commercial grounds.

If we cancel an order after payment, we refund the full amount to the original payment method.

4.2 Pricing and promotional display

  • Prices are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless stated otherwise.
  • Prices include GST where applicable, and include standard AU/NZ shipping where "free shipping" is indicated.
  • Prices may change at any time without notice, but changes do not affect orders already confirmed.
  • Where we display a "compare-at", "RRP", "was", or strike-through price alongside the current price, that reference price is a recommended or indicative retail price used for comparison purposes and does not represent a specific warranty that the product has been sold at that price in any specific prior period. The price you pay is the current price shown at checkout.
  • Promotional banners such as "sale", "limited time", "while stock lasts" and percentage-off callouts describe general promotional framing and, unless an explicit end date or quantity is published, should not be read as a specific representation about when a promotion will end.
  • Nothing in this clause limits any non-excludable rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including rights under section 29 of the ACL concerning representations about price.

4.3 Pricing errors

If a product is listed at a price that is obviously incorrect (for example, a steering lock listed at $0.10 due to a data entry error), we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the amount paid. We will contact you by email before cancelling.

4.4 Payment

You authorise us (directly or through our payment processors) to charge your nominated payment method for the order amount, including any taxes and additional options you select at checkout. You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method.

5. Product safety, deterrence, and no guarantee of security outcomes

This section is important. Please read it carefully. It applies to all StreetGuard Security products.

5.1 What our products are

StreetGuard Security sells vehicle-security products across four product families:

  • Mechanical security — steering wheel locks and similar physical deterrents;
  • Passive tracking accessories — products that integrate with Apple Find My (such as our 12V Car Charger with Tracking), where a passive tag's location is updated by nearby Apple devices;
  • OBD2-port devices — products that plug into your vehicle's diagnostic port (such as our OBD2 Find My Car), also integrating with Apple Find My;
  • RFID-blocking accessories — passive signal-blocking pouches for vehicle key fobs (such as our RFID Blocking Key Fob Case).

Every StreetGuard Security product is designed to act as a deterrent or impediment to vehicle theft, unauthorised use, or unauthorised signal interception.

5.2 What our products are not

Our products are not a guarantee against theft, damage, loss, break-in, or any other adverse event involving your vehicle or its contents. No security product — from any manufacturer — can guarantee absolute protection. A determined thief with enough time, tools, and motivation can defeat most mechanical security products.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • our products are one layer of a sensible vehicle-security approach, not a complete solution;
  • best practice is to combine mechanical deterrents like ours with good habits (parking in well-lit areas, locking doors, not leaving valuables visible, using a vehicle alarm and/or tracking device);
  • you have not relied on any representation, advertising claim, review, or testimonial to the effect that our products will prevent theft or damage in any specific circumstance;
  • marketing claims such as "theft-proof", "unbreakable", "10,000+ happy Aussies", or similar are promotional statements about general product features, not warranties about the outcome in your individual situation; and
  • if you have specific security needs (e.g. high-value classic vehicles, fleet assets), you should seek professional security advice in addition to using our products.

5.3 Correct fitment and use

You are responsible for:

  • confirming the product is compatible with your specific vehicle make, model, year, and steering wheel design before purchase (we publish compatibility information on product pages, and you can email support@streetguardsecurity.com if unsure);
  • installing and using the product strictly in accordance with the instructions provided;
  • inspecting the product before each use and discontinuing use if it shows signs of damage, wear, or malfunction; and
  • keeping keys and unlocking tools secure.

Failure to fit or use the product correctly may affect its performance and may void the 100-Day Product Guarantee described in our Refund Policy (but does not affect your non-excludable ACL rights).

5.4 Limitation of outcomes-based liability

Subject to Section 2 (ACL non-excludability) and Section 15 (Limitation of Liability), we are not liable for:

  • theft, loss, damage, or depreciation of your vehicle or its contents;
  • failure of a tracking product to recover a stolen vehicle, including because the vehicle is out of Apple Find My network range, the tag has been removed or disabled by a thief, or location updates are delayed;
  • failure of an RFID-blocking pouch to prevent theft where the pouch was left open, the key was partially outside the pouch, or the thief used a method other than a relay attack (including key cloning, physical theft, or OBD-port-based cloning);
  • consequential economic losses (e.g. car hire costs, missed work, insurance excess);
  • personal injury arising from misuse of the product; or
  • any other outcome-based loss that depends on the conduct of third parties (including criminals), signal or network availability, road conditions, weather, or other factors outside our control.

Our liability for a product that fails a consumer guarantee under the ACL is handled through the remedies set out in our Refund Policy.

6. Electronic, tracking, and OBD2 products — additional terms

This section applies to our 12V Car Charger with Tracking, OBD2 Find My Car, and any future electronic or tracking product we sell. It is in addition to Section 5 and does not replace your ACL rights.

6.1 Apple Find My dependency

Our tracking products (the 12V Car Charger with Tracking and the OBD2 Find My Car) rely on Apple's Find My network to report location. We do not operate a separate server, app, or backend that sees or stores your location data — location data flows directly between the product, nearby Apple devices, and your own Apple account.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • the product's ability to report a location depends on other Apple devices (owned by strangers) passing within Bluetooth range of the product;
  • in remote areas or indoor locations with no Apple devices nearby, the product may not update its location for extended periods;
  • the accuracy and freshness of location data are governed by Apple's Find My service and its own terms, which are outside our control;
  • Apple may change, limit, or withdraw Find My functionality at any time, and we are not responsible for the effect of any such change on the product's usefulness; and
  • the product is not a real-time GPS tracking service, is not designed for safety-critical tracking, and is not a substitute for professional vehicle recovery, emergency services, or live fleet-tracking services.

6.2 OBD2 installation and vehicle electronics

The OBD2 Find My Car product connects to your vehicle's On-Board Diagnostics (OBD2) port. You are responsible for:

  • confirming your vehicle has a standard OBD2 port and that the product is compatible with your vehicle;
  • installing the product correctly, including with the vehicle ignition off during installation, and following any instructions supplied with the product;
  • inspecting the product periodically and removing it if it shows signs of damage or interference with your vehicle; and
  • checking your own vehicle manufacturer's warranty documentation to confirm whether the use of third-party OBD2 devices affects any ongoing vehicle warranty.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • many vehicle manufacturers treat the use of third-party OBD2 devices as a factor that may affect parts of their manufacturer warranty, and you alone are responsible for verifying your manufacturer's position before installing;
  • to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any consequence of your vehicle manufacturer's warranty position, including where a dealer or manufacturer refuses a warranty claim on the grounds that a third-party OBD2 device was fitted;
  • in rare cases, an OBD2 device may interact with vehicle electronic control units (ECUs), trigger dashboard warning lights, or record fault codes — if this occurs, remove the product immediately and contact a qualified mechanic;
  • OBD2 devices draw a small amount of power from the vehicle's 12V system even when the ignition is off. We recommend removing the device if the vehicle is to be left unused for an extended period, or using a 12V battery maintainer, to avoid battery drain.

6.3 12V charger / passive tag installation

The 12V Car Charger with Tracking plugs into your vehicle's 12V accessory socket. You are responsible for installing it in accordance with any instructions supplied, and for removing it for extended non-use if your vehicle's 12V socket remains live when the ignition is off. The passive tag inside may draw a small amount of power from the vehicle's 12V system.

6.4 Data and battery responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining your own Apple account, keeping the product's internal battery (where applicable) in working order, and monitoring the product's status through the Apple Find My app or equivalent tool. We are not liable for loss of tracking functionality caused by a depleted tag battery, a disconnected device, a lost or reset Apple account, or network unavailability.

7. RFID-blocking products — additional terms

This section applies to our RFID Blocking Key Fob Case and any future signal-blocking accessory we sell.

Our RFID-blocking products are passive Faraday pouches designed to block radio-frequency signals emitted by a vehicle key fob while the pouch is closed and the fob is fully inside the pouch. When used correctly, this is designed to help prevent a specific type of vehicle theft known as a relay attack (in which a thief uses an amplifier to pick up the fob's signal from inside your home and trigger keyless entry).

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • the product is designed to work only when the pouch is closed with the fob fully inside;
  • a product left open, damaged, worn, or used incorrectly may not block signals effectively;
  • no signal-blocking product can prevent theft methods that do not rely on the key fob's signal (including physical theft, key cloning, OBD-port cloning, towing the vehicle, or breaking into the vehicle directly);
  • the product does not replace other security practices — locking doors, parking sensibly, using a steering lock, and using vehicle alarms or tracking devices all remain important; and
  • the product is a deterrent, not a guarantee, consistent with Section 5 of these Terms.

8. Compatibility and fitment warranty

You are solely responsible for confirming vehicle compatibility before you order. We publish compatibility information on product pages (including a dedicated fitment page at streetguardsecurity.com/pages/fitment), and our support team will help where we can before purchase.

Under our Refund Policy, incorrect fitment is not a change-of-mind scenario we accept returns for, provided the compatibility information was reasonably available at the point of purchase. This does not limit your ACL rights if the product genuinely does not match its description.

9. Shipping and risk of loss

Shipping terms are set out in the Shipping Policy. Key points:

  • We ship to Australia and New Zealand only.
  • Dispatch is typically 1–3 business days; delivery is 2–12 business days depending on location.
  • Delivery estimates are not guaranteed.
  • Default delivery is Authority to Leave unless you select signature-on-delivery.
  • Risk of loss passes to you on delivery (or on Authority to Leave drop-off), subject to ACL.

10. Returns, refunds, and warranty

Returns, refunds, and our 100-Day Product Guarantee are governed by the Refund Policy. In short:

  • We offer a voluntary 100-Day Guarantee for manufacturing defects.
  • We do not offer change-of-mind returns.
  • Your ACL rights continue to apply, in many cases beyond 100 days.
  • Contact support@streetguardsecurity.com with photos and order details to start a claim.

11. Intellectual property

11.1 Our IP

All content on the Website — including the "StreetGuard Security" name and any associated logos, trade marks, product designs, text, graphics, photographs, videos, UGC we have licensed, product packaging, and arrangement of the site — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws, including the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and the Trade Marks Act 1995 (Cth).

You may view and use the Website for the sole purpose of browsing and purchasing products for your personal use. You must not, without our prior written consent:

  • reproduce, copy, adapt, distribute, or publish any content from the Website;
  • scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Website using automated means;
  • use our brand assets, images, or copy in your own marketing or on third-party platforms;
  • frame or deep-link to the Website in a way that suggests endorsement; or
  • decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any code or design elements.

11.2 Your content (reviews, photos, feedback)

If you submit a review, photo, video, testimonial, or other content to us or tag us on social media, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content for our commercial purposes (including website, advertising, email, and social media), with attribution where reasonably practical.

You confirm that you:

  • own or have rights to the content you submit;
  • are not violating anyone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights; and
  • are not being paid by a competitor or third party to post misleading content.

Incentivised reviews and testimonials. From time to time we may offer a small incentive (such as a discount code or entry into a draw) to customers who leave a genuine review after their purchase. If you received an incentive for a review, you must:

  • disclose that you received an incentive, either in the review itself or by responding to any "did you receive an incentive" prompt the review platform uses; and
  • provide your genuine, honest opinion — incentives do not buy positive reviews, and we do not alter, filter, or remove genuine reviews based on star rating.

Where we publish reviews or testimonials on our Website or marketing, we take reasonable steps to identify which were incentivised and/or verified, consistent with the ACCC's guidance on online reviews.

We may moderate, edit, or remove content that is false, misleading, off-topic, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.

12. Website use and prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • use the Website for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any Commonwealth, State, or Territory law;
  • infringe any intellectual property, privacy, or other right of any person;
  • transmit viruses, malware, or any code designed to interfere with the Website;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts, or backend;
  • use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Website except for legitimate search engine indexing;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse our staff, customers, or other users;
  • resell or list our products on third-party marketplaces without our written consent;
  • use the Website to send spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited commercial communications; or
  • interfere with the operation of the Website, including by overloading, flooding, or crashing it.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, without notice and without liability.

13. Third-party services and links

13.1 Platforms we rely on

The Website is hosted on Shopify. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, or similar providers. Advertising may be delivered via Meta, Google, or TikTok. Analytics may be collected via Google Analytics or similar tools. These providers have their own terms and privacy policies.

Any sales transactions are made directly with StreetGuard Security. Shopify and other platforms are service providers to us and are not a party to your purchase. To the extent permitted by law, you release Shopify and our other providers from any claim arising directly from your purchase from us.

13.2 Third-party links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those websites. Links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement.

14. Accuracy and availability

We take care to ensure product descriptions, images, specifications, and pricing are accurate. However:

  • product colours and finishes may appear different on your screen;
  • occasional errors, inaccuracies, or omissions may occur (typographical errors, stock miscounts, pricing errors);
  • we reserve the right to correct errors, change product information, and cancel affected orders at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted the order).

The Website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Scheduled and unscheduled downtime may occur.

15. Limitation of liability

Read together with Section 2 (ACL non-excludability).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject always to your non-excludable rights under the ACL:

  • our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the Website, or any product is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product or order giving rise to the claim;
  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of or damage to property other than the product itself;
  • where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited (for example, for products not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use), our liability is limited at our option to: (a) replacement of the product; (b) repair of the product; (c) payment of the cost of replacement or repair; or (d) refund of the purchase price.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) that we suffer or incur arising out of:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your misuse of the Website or our products;
  • your breach of any law in connection with your use of the Website; or
  • any claim by a third party based on content you submit to us.

This indemnity is reduced proportionately to the extent our negligence or breach contributed to the loss.

17. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" and "Version" at the top. Material changes will be notified through the Website or by email (where we have one for you).

Your continued use of the Website after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not accept updated Terms, you must stop using the Website.

Orders already confirmed at the time of a change remain governed by the Terms in force when confirmed, except where a later change is required by law.

19. Dispute resolution

Before starting any legal proceeding, you and we agree to try to resolve any dispute in good faith using this ladder:

  1. Contact us first. Email support@streetguardsecurity.com with the subject line "Formal Dispute — [Order Number]" setting out the issue, what you want us to do, and any supporting evidence. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and respond substantively within 30 days.
  2. Escalation. If not resolved within 30 days of our substantive response, either party may refer the matter to mediation through a recognised mediation service in Queensland (such as the Queensland Law Society Mediation Chapter), with costs shared equally unless the mediator recommends otherwise.
  3. Courts. If mediation does not resolve the dispute within 60 days of referral, either party may commence court proceedings subject to Section 20.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or interlocutory relief from a court at any time, or from exercising rights under the ACL or with regulators (ACCC, State Fair Trading, OAIC).

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws in force in Queensland, Australia.

You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts of appeal from them, for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

21. General

21.1 Severability

If any part of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues in force.

21.2 Waiver

A failure or delay by us in exercising a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.

21.3 Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Website and any purchase, superseding any prior agreements or representations.

21.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or successor (including on sale of our business) without your consent.

21.5 Electronic communications

You agree to receive communications from us electronically (email, SMS where opted in, Website notices). Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing.

21.6 Headings

Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

21.7 Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control (natural disasters, pandemics, carrier failure, government action, cyber-attack), except for obligations to pay money.
